Posh Wins against ASA Complaint!
Posted on September 27, 2009 by Rachel Wright
In a ruling that the ASA put out they said that the Posh Bingo TV advert was not to be pulled. See it all started when a member of the public filed a complaint with the ASA, Advertising Standards Authority saying that the TV ad stating the free money offer was not clear.
Personally it would seem like you may want to head to the site and check out what the offer really is, just in case. Ads can’t run forever, and not enough time could have been provided on the time limit of that ad for Posh to state that.
However, the ASA who has banned many other adverts ruled for Posh Bingo in this case, and they can continue to run the advertisement. Other sites haven’t been as lucky in the past with these rulings, and have had to pull those already paid for advertisements off the air.
All you need is one person who calls the ASA and reports a complaint and it will be looked into. Posh had themselves covered because at the end of the ad it was stated very clearly that terms and conditions may apply.
Good deal, because sometimes it seems that online bingo sites do get the bad side of the deal. However, in this case there was absolutely no reason for the ASA to ban the advert and will let it continue.
Most often it seems that the ASA does not side with the online side, but with the complaint part and Tombola and Wink Bingo are just two that have been pulled from the TV due to these complaints.
This time though it goes to show you that people who play at Posh Bingo are playing a good site. They had the bases covered and didn’t try to pull anything quick. Not that any other sites will do that, but perhaps you can feel a bit safer now.
