Mecca Bingo Joins Powers With The Pension Services
Posted on May 15, 2009 by Rachel Wright
Mecca Bingo joined effort with the department for work and pensions in Halifax last week in an attempt to increase the pension credit of the surrounding area.
The Pension Service has been on a bit of a campaign lately, in an attempt to get pensioners to know their rights in regards to the United Kingdom pension service.
The usual channel the Pension Service would use, would be TV or a newspaper campaign advertising, but as they have said it does not reach out to everyone, which is the main reason they have joined efforts with Mecca Bingo as bingo is the major attraction point to people of this age range.
It was the goal of the pension service to speak out to people on how to qualify for extra income and other incentives.
As noted by Halifax Courier, Pension Credit guarantees people who range in the age category above 60 years old, an income of approximately £130 a week and £198.45 for couples.
People may also be eligible to council tax and housing benefit.
This can be claimed directly over the phone on the Pension Services freephone number – 0800 731 4811.
