A land based Gala Bingo Club may be turned into a Church. Yes the Upper Norwood location is possibly going to be changed into an Evangelical Church. Not if the 5,000 people have any say in the matter though. That’s how many have signed a petition to stop the move so far. Yet another closure in the land based clubs.
Not that the club will reopen for bingo, but the people feel something else should be put in the place. Perhaps a cinema, the Evangelical Church is currently in Wimbledon, but they would love to move to the Upper Norwood are.
A spokesperson from the church said that the church will provide counseling, skills training, and youth clubs for the area. Plus people could come and enjoy many other options that will be made available to them.
It shall be an interesting development to see what wins out in this case of a church or cinema in the community.
